Welcome to The Waiting Room

I've tinkered with a blog before, and always got bored. I either ran out of ideas (at least for providing free insight) or I was worn down by the combination of passivity and greed in the security industry as an audience. Nevertheless, I'll give it another shot.

I recently found myself in a waiting room at the dentist's. I started idly flicking through magazines that I would otherwise have zero interest in. You know the type - selling exotic lifestyles and eye-wateringly expensive hobbies. I have no interest in golf, boats, mansions or Swiss watches, and that was the bulk of what was on offer.

So I decided to start up a blog again. Something that you can drop into to kill a few minutes while you wait for something more interesting to happen. Don't expect too much from this thing - most of my writing is done in The Surgery for my subscribers. I have no real appetite for pissing my insight into the void of freeloaders that the world has become. With that said...

This blog will be 100% written by me. I find the widespread acceptance of AI-generated bilge to be an indication of the total lack of respect that humans have developed for the concepts of intellect and value. When I publish anything, I am asking you for the two most valuable things you have - your time and your attention. If I just phoned it in with some AI-generated bullshit, that would be a massive disrespect to you. If I cannot be bothered to put the effort into writing it, you shouldn't be expected to give those valuable things away, should you? That's not a fair trade.

Of course, you might be an IT asshole who thinks that computers are the answer to everything. This is not the blog for you, in that case.
